Michelle Whittier is a nationally recognized and award winning marimba artist.  Among her numerous accolades is first place in the 1996 Percussive Arts Society International Convention Solo Marimba Competition.  Having played percussion for over 16 years, Michelle holds a bachelors degree from the University of North Texas where she studied under many of UNT’s world-class faculty instructors.  She has been a member of the 13 time national champion UNT drumline, the highly acclaimed UNT graduate percussion ensemble and the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps.  Some of Michelle’s teachers include Shawn Schietroma, Michael Hernandez, Dr. Robert Schietroma, Steve Fulton, Paul Rennick, Ron Fink and Jeff Queen.
